Our Classes

Welcome your little gem to our paradise! Our classrooms are designed to create a comfortable, and choice-driven learning environment. They include spaces for both group and individual work, with children working at tables or on floor mats. All our classrooms are designed to be warm, colourful, and organized to support calm engaging learning experiences.

Our Toddler classroom is separated from the central Preschoolers classroom and is equipped with age-appropriate furniture, bathroom facilities, a play area, Wendy house and sandpit. Beds are provided for their nap time.

Our Preschooler classroom is divided into 5 learning areas each equipped with objects and materials that stimulate curiosity and foster intellectual growth. Preschoolers have a vast playground area to run and explore with multiple swings, monkey bars, Wendy house and sandpit area. Preschoolers can also explore our Little Library and participate in various Extra Murals.

Toddlers Class & Playground

The Toddler classroom is separated from the central Preschoolers classroom and is equipped with age-appropriate furniture, bathroom facilities, a colourful play area, Wendy house and sandpit area the toddlers can roam freely. Toddlers are supervised constantly by Senior Directress and two Assistant Directress.

Toddlers Clamber Club

Clamber Club offers toddlers fun, movement-based activities that develop their gross motor skills, balance, and coordination, while promoting physical fitness and joyful learning through active play.

Preschoolers Class & Playground

The Preschooler classroom is divided into 5 learning areas each equipped with objects and materials that stimulate curiosity and foster intellectual growth. Preschoolers have a vast playground area, with multiple swings, monkey bars, and Wendy house to explore. They can explore our Little Library too and participate in various extra murals. Each learning area is thoughtfully designed and organized to support a calm warm and engaging learning experience.

Primary School Readiness

As your child approaches the suitable age for attending primary school, Sandton Montessori will ensure your child has the skills required for any primary school environment in both South Africa and internationally. A child is deemed ready for primary school when they reach a stage in their development which enables them to learn easily, effectively and without emotional disturbance. We aim to achieve this readiness in your child by developing their intellectual, emotional, physical and social skills in our learning environment.

Extra Mural Activities

Extra Mural Activities

We provide a host of extra mural activities for your child. These murals are applicable to the Preschooler Classes. Chess and Drama are compulsory activities. You can select a combination of Ballet, Gymnastics, Karate, Computer Studies and Soccer as extra murals for them.

Chess

Our external Chess coach Sipho teaches the kids strategic thinking, patience, problem-solving, and concentration, helping them develop cognitive skills and resilience through thoughtful, engaging play.

Drama

Our Drama teacher Tim teaches the kids expressive communication, confidence, creativity, and empathy, helping them develop strong language skills and the ability to connect with others through performance and storytelling.

Computer Studies

Our Computer Studies teacher Martie teaches the kids digital literacy, problem-solving, and creativity, helping them explore technology responsibly and develop skills in coding, research, and logical thinking.

Soccer

Our Soccer coach Scott teaches the kids teamwork, coordination, discipline, and physical fitness, communication skills, confidence, and a spirit of fair play on field.

Ballet

Our Ballet coach Karen comes every week and teaches the kids grace, coordination, discipline, and self-expression through creative movement, improving their physical development and confidence.

Karate

Our Karate instructor Sensei Stuart teaches children self-discipline, respect, focus, and physical coordination, builds their confidence, self-control, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.

Gymnastics

Our Gymnastics coach Wiseman comes every week, sets up an obstacle course and guides the kids through a host of challenging poses developing their flexibility and muscle strength.

Additional Care Services

We provide a host of additional care services to making parenting pleasant and memorable for you and your child.

  • Forgot to make their food last night? Our Lunch Catering service helps save you precious time in the morning.

  • Can’t leave the office as yet? Our After Care services keeps your child safe and entertained until you arrive.

  • No holiday plans as yet? Our Holiday Fun Club services operates during the school holidays whilst you are at the office.

After Care

Our After Care service offers your child a safe, nurturing environment for relaxation, creative activities, and continued learning, whilst providing you as a parent flexible, reliable support beyond regular school hours.

Academic Support Unit

Our Academic Support Unit provides a series of services for children requiring additional support during their formative years. We partner with practitioners in Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy and Play Therapy. All these services are provided on site at Sandton Montessori’s premises. Please inquire with our school Principal Tasneem for these additional care services.
